Manufactured in New Britain, Connecticut, by Landers, Frary & Clark, this compact cast-metal grinder was designed to clamp onto the edge of a table or countertop. The No. 00 was the smallest model in the Universal Food Chopper line, which was introduced in the late 1890s.

It retains its hand crank, wooden handle, table clamp, tightening screw, and front cutting assembly. Raised cast markings include “UNIVERSAL,” “00,” and “L.F. & C. New Britain, Conn. U.S.A.”

Condition: Antique preowned condition with oxidation, patina, scratches, finish loss, small rust spots, and wear consistent with substantial age and previous use. The wooden handle also shows age-related discoloration and wear. No obvious cracks or major breaks were observed.

The crank and clamp should be tested before use. Due to its age, oxidation, and unknown metal finish, this piece is being offered as a decorative antique collectible rather than a food-safe kitchen appliance.
