Vintage 1950s German Edelstein-Roman No. 291 Pulp Romance Booklet

A little romance, a little mountain drama, and a whole lot of fabulous vintage cover art.

This original German-language Edelstein-Roman booklet is issue No. 291, “Komm zu mir ins Elterntal,” written by Carla Lewis and published by Zauberkreis-Verlag in Rastatt-Baden, West Germany. Part of the popular Berg-, Bauern- und Heimatroman tradition, it combines romance with the rural and alpine settings beloved by midcentury German readers.

The colorful cover features actors Katja Kessler and Bert Fortell in the 1957 film “Wetterleuchten um Maria,” helping date the booklet to approximately the late 1950s. Its dramatic portrait, period typography, and original 60-Pfennig price make it a wonderful display piece for collectors of German ephemera, pulp fiction, international books, film memorabilia, and midcentury graphic design.
